Ed was chosen to join 60 trainers from across America to participate in the Midwest Mustang Challenge in April 2008, held in Madison, Wisconsin. The Challenge, hosted by the U. S. Bureau of Land Management and the Mustang Heritage Foundation, is designed to showcase the beauty, versatility and trainability of America's unique breed, the mustang. Horses were judged on in-hand and riding components, and trainers competed for $12,000 in prize money.
We picked up Callie in Illinois the first week in January, 2008, and had 100 days to train her for the competition in April. After a lot of hard work and a lot of fun, we came in about the middle of the pile.
We learned so much from Callie and really enjoyed our experience with her and with the Challenge.
